The Strongest NFL Players
Today we're diving into our list of the strongest players in the NFL. Now, when we say strong, we're not talking about their on-field performance. We're talking about what these guys can do in the weight room – benching, squatting, deadlifting, you name it.
Jalen Hurts
First up, we've got the NFL's strongest quarterback, and it's an easy call. Meet Jalen Hurts, the 25-year-old starting QB for the Philadelphia Eagles. Before his MVP-worthy days, Hurts was a high school powerlifter in Texas, putting up some seriously impressive numbers – think a 570 lb squat, 280 lb bench, and a 585 lb deadlift at just 195 lbs body weight.
Andrew Billings
Next, we've got the strongest defensive lineman, and that title goes to Andrew Billings. This guy might just be one of the strongest in the NFL right now. He's been making waves in his eighth season, and his high school powerlifting stats are off the charts – an 805 lb squat, 500 lb bench, and a 705 lb deadlift, totaling over 2,000 lbs at just 18 years old!
DK Metcalf
Moving on to the strongest wide receiver, we've got DK Metcalf. Standing at 6 feet 5 inches and weighing 235 lbs, this guy is a powerhouse. Not only is he known for his blazing speed, but he's also a beast in the gym. In the NFL combine bench press, he cranked out 27 reps at 225 lbs – way above the average for a wide receiver.
Larry Allen
Now, let's talk legends. Larry Allen, the all-pro offensive lineman for the Dallas Cowboys, is an absolute powerhouse. Rumor has it he could bench press 700 lbs. To put that in perspective, only eight lifters in the history of powerlifting have hit that mark. Larry Allen was in a league of his own.
James Harrison
Then, there's James Harrison, a gym rat through and through. This Steelers linebacker, a two-time Super Bowl champ and Defensive Player of the Year, is still hitting the gym hard at 45 years old. Bench pressing 545 lbs like it's just another day at the office.
Steve Weatherford
And for a bonus category, we can't forget about the most jacked punter – Steve Weatherford. At 40 years old, this retired punter was still throwing around some serious weight, benching 400 lbs and squatting 475 lbs. Not bad for a position that doesn't always get the respect it deserves.
Ko Kieft
Last but not least, we've got a bonus bonus pick – big Ko Kieft, the tight end for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This guy is a force to be reckoned with on the field, and his pregame style is next level.
